Abstract:
With the deepening of advancement of urbanization, rural functions in border areas are becoming increasingly differentiated and diversified. To reveal the characteristics of border rural regional functional evolution and propose planning countermeasures, five typical border towns in Linjiang City, Jilin Province were taken as research subjects. A rural regional function evaluation index system was constructed from five dimensions: agricultural production, non-agricultural production, living security, ecological conservation, and border trade. The subjective and objective combined product weighting method was used to measure functional levels, and functional structure was analyzed using the dominant and weak function identification methods. Based on data from the three phases in 2015, 2020, and 2024, the driving mechanism and development types were analyzed by Pearson correlation quantitative analysis, and planning countermeasures were proposed. The results show that the overall border rural functions in Linjiang City have shifted from agriculture-led to multi-functional coordinated evolution, with the proportion of agricultural production functions continuously declining, non-agricultural production and border trade functions steadily improving, living security functions significantly enhanced, and ecological conservation functions steadily progressing; Based on the correlation analysis, resource endowment, industrial foundation, policy support, and various rural functions show differentiated linkage characteristics, with significant heterogeneity in the functional evolution trajectories of each town; At the same time, based on functional combination characteristics, Linjiang City's border villages are divided into four types: border-dominant integration, comprehensive integration, balanced development, and potential enhancement, with corresponding planning countermeasures. This study can provide a basis for rural revitalization, spatial optimization, and planning countermeasures in Linjiang City and its border areas.
