Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, enhancing the quality of rural public spaces is crucial for creating livable, prosperous, and harmonious villages. Taking Xijiangzhai Village in Xiangfu District, Kaifeng City, Henan Province as a case study, this research integrates space syntax with field investigations to construct a multi-dimensional coupled quantitative model of 'space syntaxbehavior frequency-satisfaction'. It quantitatively analyzes the intrinsic relationship between rural public space morphology and usage behavior across nodes, streets, and the broader village domain. The results indicate that: the axial integration of public spaces in Xijiangzhai Village exhibits a pattern of 'central agglomeration and peripheral dispersion'; streets with high choice degree are concentrated along main roads, while the connectivity of internal branch roads is insufficient; although the spatial intelligibility of the village is relatively high, a 'cognitive gap' exists between the core and peripheral areas; and rural public spaces exhibit four distinct efficiency patterns. Based on these findings, optimization strategies are proposed from three dimensions: street network weaving, edge space empowerment, and cognitive system reshaping. This study provides a reference for the construction of rural public spaces in northern plain areas that integrate characteristic agriculture with cultural tourism.
