Abstract: Improving the rural living environment and architectural style is an important part of rural revitalization strategy. However, there are always great challenges in the research and control of rural architectural style on province scale. Based on the work of provincial rural architectural style research in Hubei Province in 2017, this paper puts forward a set of research on the management of provincial large-scale rural architectural style from three aspects of theoretical research, planning methods and management system. First, as a result of a large number of research objects, based on a systematic literature research and field investigation, the paper summarizes the overall characteristics of rural architectural style in Hubei Province. With comprehensive consideration of the changes of the times and the needs of the people, it puts forward the guiding objectives and principles of people oriented, advanced with the times. Second, considering the cross-scale characteristics of the provincial rural architectural style, the paper puts forward a design system of two levels and eight elements, and the idea of zoning guidance control. Third, considering the sustainability of the implementation, it put forward a working mechanism of professional collaboration and joint creation. This research concludes that for the provincial large-scale rural architectural style guidance, it needs the thought of theory, planning and management integration. We should respects the history, protects and inherits the characteristics of traditional culture, as well as face the future to meet the change needs of rural production and life style; should make a systematic overall plan to form the guiding requirements for planning and construction, as well as pay attention to differences to meet the localization of construction; should orm a recent guidance document, as well as a platform to achieve a sustainable working mode.
