Abstract:
Deeply excavating and understanding the cultural connotation of the Grand Canal, and fully showing the culture carried by the Grand Canal remains have been promoted to the national level. In order to explore the performance characteristics of canal culture in traditional architecture, this paper takes the traditional architecture along the canal in Nanxun Town, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province as the object, conducts historical data research, field investigation and expert interview, combines comparative research and interpretation methods, and explores the spatial form characteristics, traditional residential architecture and traditional public architecture under the influence of canal culture from an interdisciplinary perspective. The paper interprets the important trade nodes with enlarged space in the streets along the canal and the labor living areas near the traditional houses and warehouses, excavates the reflection of people's attitude towards the river in the architecture, the function change of traditional residential buildings, the reflection of canal thought in the transformation of traditional houses, and the canal cultural characteristics in the residential buildings along the river. The article analyzes the hall building along the canal, the temple building on the pier and the ancient stage facing the canal. The canal culture in the traditional architecture of Nanxun Town is deeply displayed in order to better protect and inherit it.
