Abstract: Under the background of territorial spatial planning reform, the traditional planning model of individual villages is difficult to meet the demands of village development in the new era. It is necessary to break the inherent path, divide rural units, and promote rural development from ‘fighting alone’ to ‘common prosperity’. Taking the Lingshan rural unit in Shuangpu Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province as an example, on the basis of summarizing the relevant requirements of the national and Zhejiang, the study focuses on the practical village planning preparation method based on the rural unit, and proposes five major strategies for the planning of the Lingshan rural unit. First, practice multi planning in one and draw a ‘one map’ of the national land space. The second is to strengthen bottom-line control and achieve coordinated organic renewal of villages. The third is to coordinate the structure of land use and orderly guide the smart shrinkage of villages. The fourth is to tap village resources, lead with science and technology, and promote iterative upgrading of the industry. Fifth, rigid and flexible combination to achieve ‘easy to use, effective and practical’ village planning, in order to provide reference for village planning in other regions in the future.
