Abstract:
Coordinating the layout of urban and agricultural space is not only a common challenge for territorial spatial planning but also a requirement of current urbanization stage in China. This paper reviews the relationship between urban and agricultural space from the historical perspective and deem that there is theoretical basis and practical demand for coordination instead of conflict between these two kinds of space. Then, some methods to coordinate the layout of urban and agricultural space at different spatial scales, including structural optimization on macroscale, texture integration at medium scale and landscape infiltration at microscale are proposed. At the end of this paper, these methods are further illustrated combined with the practice of territorial spatial planning in Suzhou.
