Abstract:
Carbon storage is a key technology for the low-carbon utilization of fossil energy. It is proposed that suitable areas for carbon storage be included in territorial spatial planning. Based on combing the theoretical principles, technical methods and environmental impact of carbon dioxide storage, this paper constructs a suitable evaluation index system for territorial spatial carbon storage in deep saline aquifers at the city and county level, which includes four major index layers (crustal stability, stratum lithology, geothermal geological conditions, and social environmental risks) and eight evaluation indicators. Taking Mangya City in Qinghai Province as a practical case, based on the operability at the city and county level, this paper identifies the suitable areas for carbon storage and the potential value, and it also raises suggestions on territorial spatial planning strategy.
