Abstract:
As natural disasters taking place frequently all over the world, construction of cities' and towns' disaster-prevention space is of great urgency. While community is the basic unit that consists of cities and towns, it's also the basic unit for disaster-prevention and refuge. Japan is a country that has been suffering from multiple disasters for a long time. As a result, the country has established a perfect system of disaster-prevention control methods and disaster-prevention space. This paper takes the community in Shikaha area, Adachi, Tokyo as an example, studies its upper disaster-prevention methods and related disaster-prevention plans, and does field research on the community's public space. Through studies and research on the case, this paper discusses how Japan's disaster-prevention methods work and make an impact on communities' allocation of public space, patterns of boundary and forms of public green space. The discussion will also indicate enlightenment on promotion of China's disaster-prevention methods and planning of disaster-prevention space in small towns.
