Abstract:
In the transformation of old communities in cities and towns, the contradiction between the protection of historical culture and the improvement of the living environment of residents has been widely discussed, restricting the process of transformation. This article tries to take Beijing's Xibianmen ‘State Council Dormitory’ as an example, comprehensively analyzes the historical and cultural value of the old communities and the importance of protection, the existing problems of the communities, the urgency of renovation, and the combination of theory and practice. It is hoped that the policy measures and implementation suggestions for the comprehensive renovation of the communities can be used as a reference for improving relevant policies, and will be inspired by the renewal of urban and rural communities and innovative urban renewal methods.
