Abstract: The development of the capital has entered a new stage of optimization and improvement of urban functions, deep transformation of development mode and continuous integration of urban and rural areas, where carrying out the comprehensive land consolidation work is an important practice to implement Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization and implement ‘Beijing City Master Plan (2016-2035)’. As a complex urban-rural regional system in Beijing, village area is an important land space for comprehensive land consolidation. This paper takes the land spatial planning of village areas in Beijing as an example, based on the spatial differences between urban and rural areas in the capital city and suburbs, re-understands the essence and function of comprehensive land consolidation, and explores the transformation and development direction of comprehensive land consolidation in the new era. It is suggested that we should focus on the broader extension of comprehensive land consolidation under the framework of the construction and implementation of three levels and three types of territorial spatial planning system in Beijing. And it focuses on four aspects:strengthening the overall planning of high-level comprehensive land consolidation, emphasizing rigid transmission and bottom line management and control requirements, promoting high-quality ecological development through comprehensive management of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grass, and promoting the optimization and improvement of three living spaces in villages with the overall planning of all factors, so that it puts forward the comprehensive land consolidation measures to adapt to the actual development of the capital village area and the requirements of the land spatial planning of Beijing in the new development stage.
