Abstract:
The hollow villages and extensive use of land resources in rural areas have become objective facts. In the future, it is an irresistible trend to vacate rural unused land and improve the land use efficiency. The key is how to optimize the layout of the villages and improve the land use efficiency on the premise of meeting the requirements of farmers and maintaining rural social stability. This paper argues that the key point to solve the problem is to return to the starting point of ‘people-oriented’ based on the analysis of the general differences in the types and needs of farmers. It proposes the change from ‘village relocation and merge policies’ to the ‘household-specific policies’ and the spatial integration model to optimize the spatial layout of the village, in order to promote rural revitalization on the basis of protecting farmers' rights and interests.
