Abstract:
Traditional villages are different from the villages newly planned and constructed in modern times, whose spatial form has been accumulated over many years, so there are many types of ‘idle space’ in villages for many reasons. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the research on villages, however, problems such as neglect of idle space and insufficient value recognition in the villages are still common. From four aspects of the ecological environment, social culture, economy, the construction, and spatial characteristics, combined with the analysis and the investigation of present situation use function, this paper discusses the potential value of the idle land in the village, in order to improve the effective recognition of village space, explore evaluation value system of the idle space in villages, and to enrich village planning and construction theory.
