Abstract: Since 2012, our country has achieved remarkable results in the protection and development of traditional villages, but is faced with many difficulties, such as difficult protection and insufficient development. The traditional villages in the regions of poor location and market conditions are more prominent. This paper analyzes the experiences of the protection and development of traditional villages in different regions, sorts out the plight of the protection and development of the traditional villages in Taixiangsi Village, Yanchuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, and draws the conclusion that the villagers' consciousness and behavior choices, and multiple subjects to participate in protection and development are the important factors in Northwest China. Taking Taixiangsi Village's joint creation practice as an example, it draws the methods for the protection and development of traditional villages, in order to provide reference for the protection and development of traditional villages in Northwest China and other underdeveloped areas.
