Abstract:
The characteristic town which develops high-tech industries has received widespread attention, but successful cases are rare. Taking Deqing Geographic Information Town in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province as an example, through field investigation, this study summarizes the successful experience in the development of the town, analyzes the opportunities and challenges it faces, and puts forward corresponding policy recommendations. The development of geographic information town benefited from the location where Deqing is adjacent to Hangzhou. At the same time, the strategic foresight and policy determination of local governments made up for the deficiencies of Deqing's lower urban function level to a certain extent. As a characteristic town which develops high-tech industries, the key to the success of Deqing Geographic Information Town in the past is that it attracted a large number of technologies, talents and industrial resources from the outside in a short period of time. By shaping regional brands, high-quality planning and construction and operation management, it has created an excellent innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. In the future, Deqing Geographic Information Town needs to continuously improve the endogenous power for innovation and entrepreneurship, and improve the local embeddedness of industrial development.
