Abstract:
Mountainous historic villages represent typical traditional residential settlements in Shaoxing. Dingshan Village of Shangyu, a typical mountainous historic village of Shaoxing, is cited in this article for an analysis from the perspectives of natural environment and humanistic environment. Based on field research, villager interviews, and satellite image analyses, it probes into the relevance between village spatial patterns, architectural forms, terrains, climates, and folk customs. From there, countermeasures are proposed regarding the impacts brought by the layouts and forms of Shaoxing mountainous historic villages to the environment, alongside the indication of the construction insights from the ancient architects. On this basis, taking Zhejiang's relevant policies and measures of the construction of hillside villages into consideration, this thesis puts forward that the thinking of constructing ancient mountainous villages will provide significant reference for the current construction of hillside villages.
