Abstract: Traditional villages are valuable legacy of Chinese farming civilization. However, traditional villages located in the suburbs of the city are facing a game amang their own protection and development, urban humanities and economic radiation. This paper introduces the concept of symbiosis and explores the development path of traditional village protection under the symbiosis between urban and rural areas. Taking Liujiafan Village of Hefei City as an example, the protection development path of Liujiafan Village under the symbiosis of urban and rural areas is proposed from the perspectives of historical and cultural protection, suitable living environment, perfect public service facilities and industrial economic prosperity, in order to provide reference for the protection and development of urban suburban historical villages.
