Abstract: Due to the characteristics of large quantity, wide range and different quality, the protection and development of traditional villages in China has always been a complex and difficult work. As an effective way to achieve targeted protection and development, classified protection has formed a certain research trend. Taking Huangshan traditional village as an example, this paper uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to draw traditional village types divided by multi-dimensional characteristics based on cognitive basis, data sorting, literature analysis, and keyword co-occurrence. This paper tries to build a traditional village protection and development system structure formed by three subsystems of general principles, planning and strategy of protection and development. In order to realize the classified protection and sustainable development of traditional villages as a whole, this paper makes a concrete empirical study on the folk culture traditional villages and puts forward corresponding special protection and development system research and strategy support for different types of traditional villages.
